We recently spoke to one of our lovely care workers who commented that “Premier Homecare is the only home care company I will do Live-In Care work for in Bristol” so we decided to publish her full interviews here.
Julia Huggins recently celebrated four years with Premier Homecare as one of our brilliant Live-In Care workers, and we wanted to chat about why she has stayed with us, and what she loves about Live-In Care work in Bristol.
How did you come across Premier Homecare?
“I originally saw a Live-In Care job advertised online and read the reviews for Premier Homecare from care workers and clients. They were fantastic. I was impressed with the overall standards and they paid well.”
Have you worked in the care sector before Premier Homecare?
“I worked in care jobs for over 20 years, with elderly clients, youngsters with learning disabilities and many different aspects of care. As a Live-In Carer, I’m used to working shifts of a week on and a week off. Premier Homecare are very flexible and the office staff are so supportive.”
Were you well supported during the pandemic?
“The office team were brilliant. I actually caught Covid, and the office rang me every single day to check up and see how I was. They are genuinely caring.”
Do you feel part of a team as a Live-In Carer?
“Although Live-In Care work in Bristol is usually on set shifts with only one other care worker taking care of a client (this gives them the consistency of two carers) the Supervisors are always on hand to sort out any problems.”
How do you get support when on Live-In Care work shifts?
“There is always someone at the end of a phone if needed, and I’ve had office members and senior supervisors come and see me support on shift”
Have you been well treated by Premier Homecare as a Live-In care worker?
“The training I have been given is the best I’ve ever had in the care sector. I’m 60 now and want to stay here until I retire. Premier Homecare is the only home care company I will do Live-In Care work for in Bristol.”
Premier Homecare employs over 100 staff across two sites at Westbury-on-Trym and Stoke Hill offices and has been established as a successful, professional and friendly independent home care company for 18 years.
