Ruth MacGregor pictured above joined us in January 2022 and has worked in the live-in care sector for 14 years.
As an experienced Live-In Carer in Bristol, Premier Homecare have been really pleased to welcome her on board and interviewed her at our Westbury on Trym offices to find out more about her feedback on us.
How did you come across Premier Homecare?
“I was looking at Live-In Care jobs in Bristol on the Indeed website and I came across Premier Homecare. My daughter lives in Bristol, so being able to work on a flexible basis with them has been perfect for me.”
What is your experience of the live-in care sector to date?
“I have more than 14 years experience as a Live-In Carer and have previously worked self-employed through various employment agencies. I have worked across the UK with some fantastic clients but wanted to focus on working in just Bristol. Premier Homecare offered me that stability and a role as an employed Live-In Carer.”
What training have you had within the care sector?
“Being previously self-employed, I had to gain refresher care certificates each year. I have been given excellent in-house training and support at Premier Homecare, and the office is so well organised.
What differences have you noticed with Premier Homecare compared to other Live In Care agencies?
“The support is huge with Premier homecare. The office helpdesk is always on hand, the rotas are completed well in advance, and the critical paperwork such as risk assessments and Care Plans have all been taken well in hand.”
“I was also able to meet the live-in clients beforehand, whereas with other agencies it was usually a case of just seeing an online profile then going into the role. Premier Homecare meet the client, family and client property first. It’s so thorough.”
How have you enjoyed the live-in care work since starting your employment with Premier Homecare?
“It’s been fantastic. I’m working with one main live-in client on a job-share with another carer. Premier Homecare has been involved in everything, and very supportive throughout. They really do have a great team.”
Is there anything else that you’d like to add?
“The communication here is really good. Premier Homecare has given me an immense amount of day-to-day support as an employed Live-In Carer in Bristol.”
