One of the first elements about a Live-In care package from Premier Homecare is the outstanding level of service for our private clients in Bristol and the surrounding area.
As a family-run business based in Westbury-on-Trym and Stoke Bishop, we know North and West Bristol and South Gloucestershire exceptionally well. We are local and importantly employ local live-in carers.
Some of our Live-In care clients joining us recently had previously used national care companies that do not recruit local live-in care workers. This, it is reported, may have contributed to issues with the reliability and supervision of the carers and the overall management of the service.
They have told us about examples where flights for Live-In care workers from Europe have arrived late or not at all, where language has been an issue with poor English being a problem and even a couple of occasions where Live-In carers had only taken the position as a means to gain a place to live in the UK.
These issues do not align with our core values as a Bristol-based Live-In care service provider, as we only employ local carers from the surrounding area.
Knowledgeable, flexible, reliable
Another significant difference with our Bristol Live-In care packages is the majority of our care staff have cars, meaning that they are more flexible and can also plan more community-based activities for our clients, whilst providing a Live-In care service.
Our locally-based Live-In carers know the Bristol area well, are reliable, have their own home in or close to Bristol, so are not looking for a permanent place to live. They genuinely want to provide an excellent care service.
National Live-In care companies are often unable to provide emergency local support when it is most needed, as they can be managed remotely and do not have a local team of Live-In or Homecare carers.
Because we are local, in the rare event of an emergency, we can be on-site to assist within a very short space of time, adding another layer of reassurance and safety for our clients and an outstanding level of management support to our carers.
We have a dedicated full-time Live-In Care Manager in Bristol, and can always provide additional care to support further our Live-In carers if required by the client.
All our Live-In carers are employed by Premier, unlike some other companies who may work on a commission-led introductory basis. In this situation, the company will generally take a placement payment from the client and take no further involvement in the support, management or ongoing training of the Live-In carer. We, of course, manage this whole scenario on behalf of the client.
Continuity of care
Another common area of concern for Live-In care clients is what happens when a carer becomes sick or requests a holiday. Premier Homecare will always rapidly assign an alternative, qualified, experienced and professional Live-In carer to the client’s home, which may not always be the case with other Live-In care providers.
Again, if a client sources a Live-In carer independently, they might have issues whereby they have no Plan B should that Live-In carer suddenly become unavailable for reasons of sickness, general absenteeism and holidays.
Premier Homecare are always hands-on and supportive, and our Live-In care services offer a continuity of carer service for clients which makes a huge positive impact on clients improving relationships, promoting companionship as well as the delivery of personal care services.
Each Premier Live-In carer is carefully matched to each client, with a bespoke recruitment policy being employed. There is always a personal introduction to ensure a good match of personalities before the service commences, ensuring both the client and carer are happy and confident the Live-In care service will work well for all concerned.
