It’s that time of year when clients ask about Winter care tips for the elderly, and as a leading Bristol home care provider we are on-hand to advise.
During the colder, darker winter months it is especially important to keep a closer eye on elderly relatives and friends, to ensure their heating systems are working, their lights are on daily, that they have plenty of warming food and drinks available, and that they have the right layers of clothing to wear.
This is where home care providers in Bristol can help of course, as well as make sure that the chances of slips and trips are minimised in the house.
The picture above is particularly special for us here at Premier Homecare.
It’s one of our lovely care clients Ken, recently celebrating his 100th birthday. Ken has been a live-in care client with us for about eight months.
Two live-in carer staff provide him with 24-hour care on a shift basis and give continuity to his care needs which provide real peace of mind.
Furthermore, Ken enjoys daily company with our live-in carers, and this helps to contribute to a better overall quality of life for elderly people in Wintertime.
Ken, who has been awarded an MBE for his services to the Arts in Bristol, was previously in a local care home for a temporary respite period.
He decided that he wanted ongoing care support, but from within his own home. A friend of Ken’s got in touch with us, and we carried out the relevant assessments, as well as ensuring that Ken was happy with our bespoke choice of live-in care workers.
Ken came out of the Bristol care home during one of the previous lockdowns, and didn’t want to feel alone and isolated in his own home.
Our live-in carers are giving him support and comfort, while also helping him to maintain a high level of physical, emotional and mental wellbeing in 2022.
If you’re unsure about how well an elderly loved one or close friend is coping during the Winter months, why not get in touch with Premier Homecare to discuss how our private home care and live-in care services can help.
