Common objections to independent private care services in Bristol from a loved one – Part Two

Dealing with objections to independent private care services in Bristol - advice and tips from award-winning Premier Homecare

News & blog

independent private care services Bristol

We sometimes find when talking to the relatives of clients, their loved ones give them objectives when choosing our independent private care services in Bristol.

A private client can feel, quite naturally, they might be losing their own independence by seeking support from our award-winning care services, or that our dedicated care support worker teams might not be able to provide an outstanding service for them.

We’ve written a free PDF download entitled “I don’t need any help! A guide to help you answer your loved ones concerns and objections to care at home” which answers the main objections sometimes given to relatives looking for Bristol care services for their relatives or friends.

We’re going to run through each objection in a series of News posts in coming weeks, to provide free advice and peace-of-mind for those in this position.

We covered the first three main objections in a recent News post – please visit here to find out more.

So, this week we’re continuing with the next three points:

“Why is it important to research care providers in Bristol?”

It’s important to ensure the suitability, credibility and capability of a chosen care provider. The main organisations to check include the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the care provider’s rating, Google for client and carer experiences and reviews, Good Care Guide, as well as – to see our entry there, please visit here.

The CQC is the main regulatory body for health and social care in the UK, and Premier Homecare has an overall CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’ the top rating.

All care companies in Bristol should legally publish their CQC rating on their website, and allows independent service user and carer ratings about the care provider to be included in each review provided.

These websites all provide an excellent overview of care providers in Bristol.

“Why is it important to speak to our care management team?”

To help you arrange a client care package, it’s critical to firstly speak to a member of our management team.

The initial point of contact at Premier Homecare will typically be made over the phone, and with a trained team member who will respond in an informative and professional way, answering questions and any concerns regarding care.

Our team member will explain how Premier Homecare will assess the needs of your relative or loved one, and write a Care Plan with the involvement of the private client, as well as family and friends as required.

Once you have agreed our service, an appointment will be made to visit the private client in their home and make a more detailed assessment of their individual needs.

“What happens if my loved one is unhappy with a particular carer?”

This is a very rare occurrence, as all of our carers are well-trained, fully supervised, and fully aware of an individual’s needs and preferences.

However, our management team will listen fully to what is being said by the private client and resolve any issue fully to ensure the client is happy.

Premier Homecare only recruit care workers who can demonstrate our shared values – namely, they are kind and caring. Our carer interviews last for between 60-90 minutes, and only when references and a full check have been taken up and cleared do we then allow a new carer to start working for us.

We also provide full ongoing training and support for our care workers many of whom who have joined from other care companies in Bristol.

We’ll look at the final three objections encountered from relatives in another News post, so please keep an eye on our Bristol Home Care Blog here.
